Students, Staff, and Faculty:

We have opportunities to select new leadership for essential areas of our university. In the coming days I will form two different search committees, and I’m seeking nominations for representation from a broad spectrum of campus to serve on these committees:

  • Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies (a national search)
  • Vice Provost for Graduate Studies (an internal search)

A successful search begins with an effective search committee, composed of efficient, diverse, and engaged stakeholders. In the past year, previous search committee members and support staff have been able to conduct successful searches without the aid of an external consultant. This move saves considerable financial resources although it requires that committee members and others with an interest in the search outcome play a more active role in recruiting and generating a robust and diverse applicant pool.

In the coming days we will post finalized position descriptions for both roles.

Nominations to serve on the search committee will be kept confidential, but nominators must identify themselves. To nominate someone to serve on either committee, please supply the requested professional and contact information through these links.

Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. I ask that you submit nominations by the end of the day, Tuesday, Oct. 1. In the near future I will also seek nominations to serve on the search committee for the next Vice Provost for Diversity & Equity. Your involvement in these processes is critical to successful searches for these new leaders.
